How to set up multi-factor authentication

Takes about 5 minutes. You'll need your phone and your Kirk's Global email login.

Step 1: Install Microsoft Authenticator

On your phone, download Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). It's free and takes under a minute to install.

Step 2: Start setup from your account

Go to aka.ms/mfasetup on your computer and sign in with your usual work email and password. Choose "Set up using an app" when prompted.

Step 3: Scan the QR code

Your screen will show a QR code. Open the Authenticator app, tap the + icon, choose "Work or school account," and scan the code with your phone's camera.

Step 4: Approve the test prompt

Your computer will show a two-digit number. Type that number into the app on your phone to confirm the match. That's it. MFA is now active on your account.

What happens next time you log in

After entering your password, you'll get a notification on your phone, just tap "Approve." If you ever get a prompt you didn't trigger yourself, decline it and contact the helpdesk immediately.
